About the Role
Saber Interactive is looking for a Lead Game Designer to join the development of an unannounced AAA multiplayer shooter. The role focuses on designing and owning core gameplay systems and features that strengthen the game's central loops, support the player fantasy and create a cohesive, immersive experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design of core gameplay systems, mechanics and features across the project
- Translate the game vision and player fantasy into clear, engaging and interconnected gameplay experiences
- Own major features throughout the full development cycle, from concept and prototyping to implementation, balancing, polish and release
- Create clear and actionable design documentation, including feature specifications, gameplay flows, system rules, tuning requirements and edge cases
- Work closely with engineering, art, animation, audio, narrative, UI/UX and production
- Review implementations and provide clear feedback to ensure features meet gameplay, immersion, usability and quality goals
- Identify design risks, dependencies and opportunities early in development
- Use prototypes, playtests, telemetry, player feedback and team feedback to evaluate and improve features
- Mentor and support other designers through reviews, feedback, knowledge sharing and collaborative problem solving
- Help improve design processes, documentation standards, feature ownership practices and cross disciplinary communication
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional game design experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise
- Experience working as a Lead Designer, Feature Lead, Principal Designer or in a comparable ownership role
- At least one shipped AAA or large scale commercial game
- Strong experience designing complex gameplay systems and features
- Excellent written communication and design documentation skills
- Strong verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Deep understanding of modern shooters, multiplayer games and systemic gameplay experiences
- Professional level English or Russian communication skills
Nice-to-have
- Experience developing multiplayer shooters, extraction shooters, tactical shooters, survival games, immersive simulations or systemic multiplayer games
- Experience designing gameplay systems, mechanics or player facing features
- Experience working with an established or licensed IP
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Experience using visual scripting or gameplay prototyping tools
- Familiarity with telemetry, live game balancing and data informed design
- Experience supporting or mentoring other game designers
- Strong interest in immersive game worlds, emergent gameplay and player driven stories
